Foggy

Foggy. It's how we've been weather wise and spirit wise here this week. This is my grown daughter pushing Baby C for a walk yesterday on a foggy but warm fall day. She had an accident in her home last Sunday that involved fainting and hitting hard surfaces with her face and teeth in her bathroom. She had surgery on Monday and has had TLC from her husband, her Dad , myself and Baby C this week. Baby C and I went to pick her up at her home and bring her to our home for the day and we decided to take in the fall scenery despite the fog.
This young woman is as tough as nails because I would be a basket case if I had to go through the hurdles she has had this past year and a half. Besides this week's trauma she was also diagnosed with MS and has handled the whole thing with courage and grace beyond her years. She is also a first grade teacher which in my book is about the hardest job on earth. There's our cul-de-sac that seems to get every color of tree on display.
The colors are starting to peak in our part of NH and they are so beautiful. We have had a very warm fall so the colors seem a little late this year.
And here we are home again just in time for some rain to start falling. Gramps is working hard on getting the siding on the house because despite it being in the 70's today, it could be snowing tomorrow. That's the way the weather works in New England!
Then it's time for some comfort with a binky and a blankie. I don't know if it's her who really needs the comfort of it's me who really needs to give the comfort. A little of both I think.

  1. Chris, I am so sorry to hear about your daughter. Major problems like MS are devastating to everyone involved. My prayers are with you. The beautiful fall leaves you are enjoying right now are, hopefully, an uplift for your spirits. I have linked to your blog on mine so I can keep up with you.

  2. Oh your poor brave daughter!
MS is not a nice diagnosis to have. Keep her safe in your heart, & I know just how you feel.
Those beautiful trees are wonderful to see, & look so pretty.
    Hugs to youxx

  3. It sounds like you have been through quite a bit too. That must be incredibly scary and worrisome for you.
The leaves look beautiful. There is nothing like the color of the maples in New England. And yes, first grade is tough. Such an important year and those little kiddos have so much energy. I will be thinking of you.

I pray that risen from the dead,
In glory I will stand,
A crown perhaps upon my head,
And a needle in my hand.
