Typing With One Hand Is Not Fun

I'm here! Done with surgery but facing some pretty long  PT. My surgeon had told me that it might be a simple AC joint repair and I'd be able to be doing most everything I was doing before long. Being the optimist that I am, I jumped on that easier surgery and recovery in my head.

But once he got in there he found a rotator cuff that was 75% torn in two different places. So I had to have a big surgery that will put me away from the sewing room for a while. It's taken me these couple of days to resign myself to this. I am in a giant sling contraption that I refer to as "my siamese twin". I think she needs a name-any suggestions?

So I'll be around and visiting all of you. I know this is a minor setback compared to what many people face So my pity party has ended and it's time to suck it up and move on. Thanks for all the kind notes which are hard to answer at this point but be assured that I appreciate them more than you can imagine.

  1. Forgive me for putting it so bluntly, but that sucks. Really sucks. I know you need to think positively & look at the light at the end of the tunnel, but right now? what a tremendous PIA!

I hope you heal fast and are able to ditch your evil siamese twin soon. All of us are out here rooting for you.

  10. Chris - so glad to hear you are doing well after surgery. I've had rotator cuff repair in both of my shoulders and the recover isn't fun, but you'll do great, just be patient with yourself and take care. Big hugs your way.

  11. I had my rotar cuff repaired three years ago. Best think I ever did. Be patient, it worth what you're going thru right now.

  16. Glad the surgery fixed the issue.
Now is a good time to organize, sort, and create. If you cannot sew it today, you can do the prep work for when you can.
    Wishing you a healthy recovery.

I pray that risen from the dead,
In glory I will stand,
A crown perhaps upon my head,
And a needle in my hand.
