Time for Surgery
I'm having a little minor shoulder surgery tomorrow so I'm likely not going to be posting for a bit because there won't be much sewing going on. But ever the optimist that I am I have a couple of projects cut out in the hope that I may be able to do some sewing. The shoulder problem is one that has been bugging me for a while so I'll be glad to be done with it and move on to physical therapy and a shoulder that doesn't hurt.
First up is some Lumiere de Noel fabric and this is a little table topper all ready to sew together. I also have a table runner cut out. I love this fabirc.
This is Arnold's Attic which I cut into strips. This is going to be a small quilt for fall.
And this is a package that I won in a giveaway from Wendy at Snippets of a Quilter, all the way from British Columbia. There's a pattern and fabric for a tote bag, a quilt pattern, some post it notes and flags, and that turquoise fabric came wrapped in that candy wrapper. How cute! I thought it was a caramel or something so I ripped it open only to be surprised by the fabric. Very clever idea. Thanks Wendy! So be back soon.
Lovely fabrics and project starts. Hope your surgery runs smooth and your recovery fast. Take care :-)
ReplyDeleteComing from someone in the PT world, NO NOT let your shoulder get stuck! It's not pretty when it does :(

ReplyDeleteNow onto the yummy stuff you have here. What a delicious post. First up you say. Yes! I should say "First Up!" What a pretty, pretty block. Then onto strips and strips and strips everywhere. Nothing but possibilities. Funnnessss. Wrapping it all up with a fantastic win, too. What fun the post!!! Thank you. This was a treat over coffee.
I hope your surgery goes well so you can move on to feeling better :-) Lovely projects you have ready to go!
ReplyDeleteHi friends--hopping by to say how I adore the work my sister Chris does, and to let anyone who visits know that she came through the surgery just fine but with a bit more than she bargained for. She expected a small repair of one thing and to wake up in a sling that would be on for a couple of weeks. Instead, she woke to find herself encased in a major shoulder/arm piece of hardware, as the surgeon found some rotator cuff damage that needed to be fixed while he was in there, and so the surgery was a lot more than anticipated. The surgeon had mentioned that as a possibility, but Chris had gone in optimistic, fully expecting the minimal amount of surgery. It was all done athroscopicaly, but is still alot of fixing. When I spoke to her she was still numb in her arm and hand from the nerve block, so that wasn't a problem, but her spirit was thrown for a bit of a loop by the limitations and length of recovery she now faces. This repair is, of course, on her right side and she is right-handed.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your surgery! Hope you have an easy and speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteI was browsing blogs and ran across yours. Lovely! Enjoyed looking at it.
ReplyDeleteHi, I saw your comment on Brenda's Cozy Little House and stopped by to visit you (and follow). I can't imagine that kind of snow in April (we live in Virginia) but you do have all those gorgeous quilts to keep you warm :) Nice to meet you and I'll stop by again to chat.
