My Mojo
So I think my quilting Mojo has got up and left. Since my surgery I haven't done much sewing and I had no project that was exciting me enough to get going. That was until the Red and White Snowball Challenge hosted by Allyson and Nicole.
So check it out. I haven't decided if I'm going to do red and white though. I may go rogue! I know some others are doing other colors. I have something really different that keeps showing up in my head so who knows whay I'll do or will I chicken out and do red and white, which I love by the way. So stay tuned.
I haven't been totally idle though. I love scarves and I am knitting this one which is a free pattern on the Purl Soho blog. Not for the faint of heart though. This is a lace pattern and it takes some concentration but the yarn is yummy and it has been fun to knit again. I'll be doing this one for a while though since I love my scarves long. So whether you're knitting or sewing, try a new project. Just what I needed!
I haven't knit anything in quite awhile, perhaps you can knit me one for Christmas!!! Or do the challenge for a present for me! I see a theme.....
ReplyDeleteYou know that sometimes that happens you lose the quilting mojo! But trust me it returns and usually with a vengeance. That is definitely a good thing. But at least you are still being crafty and productive.
ReplyDeleteThe scarf looks good. I tried knitting years ago and wasn't very good.Been thinking of attempting it again though. Good luck on the quilt!
ReplyDeleteYour scarf is stunning! Perhaps losing your quilting mojo is a good thing!
ReplyDeleteYour scarf is beautiful! Can't wait to see what you decide to do for the challenge.
ReplyDeleteWow! What a beautifully knitted pattern. Lovely. I'd be all in for that - if I were a knitter. I'm a crochet girl myself. And I'll be staying tuned in...
ReplyDeleteWatching and waiting, *karendianne.
(ps: Caryl is dern hilarious and on the right track!)
I won't be joining the challenge on a formal basis but I will be making up that quilt with a bunch of floral scrappiness that I have on hand ... thanks for sharing it and best wishes as you wait for your mojo to return. It will ~ it always does (but like the seasons, sometimes it needs a rest).
ReplyDeleteTake care
I really like the red and white snowball quilt. Looks like a fun one to make. I checked out the scarf pattern and printed it out for my daughter.
ReplyDeleteChris,
ReplyDeleteThe snowball quilt is a fun quilt to make. I think you could make it in green and white. Since green is your color, you should have plenty of it. I will be waiting.
Love, Fern
I am down for the snowball challenge too. I love the scarf you've made - I have admired it many times on the purl bee site, but alas I am talentless in the knitting stakes!
ReplyDeleteNo matter what colorway you choose, it is sure to be a wonderful quilt *s*
ReplyDeleteWoo hoo~ Let's hear it for the Snowball challenge! Any color you choose will be awesome.
ReplyDeleteI am not fond of red, but made a red quilt & it is my husband's favourite.
ReplyDeleteI must finish the scarf I began in winter... it is spring now!
Hello Chris, I know what you mean about the missing MOJO...the body needs time to heal.....thank you for visiting...Warm Regards Lyn
