Scrappy Trip Progress

It's cold here-really, really cold and windy. I don't think it got above 10 degrees here. My kitchen is 61 degrees. The wood stove and central heating are not keeping up. So I put on my electric space heater and did some sewing. This is what 12 blocks looks like in my Scrappy Trip Along quilt. This is lots of fun to make because there's not much thinking involved in it. Just grab 6 strips and sew them together and go from there. Don't think too much about the colors or how the strips look together-just jump in and let the fabric do the work. I think that's why I like scrap quilts so much.

They are saying 4 or 5 more days of these temperatures so I guess me and my space heater and my sewing machine will become good friends. Hope you are all staying warm.

  1. It was mighty cold when I got up this morning and I am a little nervous about how warm it will actually be in my house when I get home. Thank goodness for fleece pants, sweatshirts, boot socks and fuzzy slippers! I am going up to my sister's farm (in the mountains) this weekend to sew. I am looking forward to a crackling fire, many glasses of cabernet and some serious fabric time! Stay warm!!

  2. You know I love you, dear sister, but your ability to start and finish quilts and make it all look effortless is really starting to piss me off. On a more pleasant note, this is an absolutely lovely quilt, and it's gonna look great in my house along with the zig zag quilt you just made for me. :)

  3. Isn't that a neat pattern! It's on my 'bucket list', as the saying goes. Your colors are so nice.
Oh, it sounds so cold there. Stay warm; the space heaters are great little companions, but do be careful with it. --no flinging scraps around it. :-)

I pray that risen from the dead,
In glory I will stand,
A crown perhaps upon my head,
And a needle in my hand.
