Ode to New Hampshire

Ode to New Hampshire

It's winter in New Hampshire

And the gentle breezes blow

Seventy miles an hour

At twenty-five below.

Oh, how I love New Hampshire

When the snow's up to your butt

You take a breath of winter

And your nose gets frozen shut.

Yes, the weather here is wonderful

So I guess I'll hang around

I could never leave New Hampshire

'Cause I'm frozen to the ground!! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Compliments of my daughter Caryl.

  1. I knew you would put that on your blog the second I sent you an e-mail! Oh and I'm just sitting down to some homemade mac and cheese. I halved your recipe (sorta) so we'll see how it turns out!

  4. How sweet ode! To visit New England in winter is my dream...
I'm going to plan a 3 weeks journey for the next year, maybe the dream will come true.

  6. As a fellow citizen of New Hampshire, this poem describes the weather here perfectly. Tell your DD she did a great job.

  8. I'll bet it's colder in New Hampshire than down here in Rhode Island...I just stepped out on the porch. Blue sky, bright sun, snow, brisk cold, not a bit of wind. Beautiful.

  13. As a native-NH'ite (the Sunapee area) now living in Ohio (where snow is just a pain, not a lifestyle), I felt every word of that poem. Loved it.

I pray that risen from the dead,
In glory I will stand,
A crown perhaps upon my head,
And a needle in my hand.
